Happy New Year, Even Happier for the Highlanders

Welcome to 2007 and welcome to a new leader atop the Predator Cup standings - the Highlanders, fueled by a 52pt week and a defeat of the, now, 2nd place Bladerunners in their Challenge Cup match was enough to give the Highlanders their first lead this season.

The Great Whites, with a solid 47pt week, handily won their Challenge Cup match and are only 5pts out of 2nd in the Predator Cup.

The Bladerunners week, at some 38pts, was actually fairly solid but their reign atop the standings (which they have held for 6 of 13 weeks) is, at least for now, over.

The Shadowmen, while only one of four teams with over 500pts, had a sub-30pt week and appear (remember these are unofficial stats) to have lost their Challenge Cup game with the Edge by a very close margin - league review of the game is no doubt pending.

The highest scoring affair this week was the Wolves-Knights Templar game with the Wolves finally prevailing on the strength of a 50pt week (to the Knights' 45pts). The win moves the Wolves ahead of the Severed Heads in the Challenge Cup standings after they lost their game with the Personal Vendetta.

Stats, unofficial, are as follows. Have a safe, happy and prosperous New Year everyone:
