Enough Already

Wolves management has not been pleased with the arrival of 2007. The Wolves are reeling from the loss of its three highest scoring players; Giguere to a groin injury, Iginla to a knee, and Kozlov to a puck in the face. Management had been feeling quite good after climbing to 5th place from 12th (week 3) and consistantly catching the top 4. The Wolves were battling with the Shadowmen for second place in the challenge cup but missing the top three scorers certainly showed this weekend as the shadowmen overtook the wolves for the victory.

This rough begining reminds management of the horrid start to 2001 when the league leading wolves lost Fleury, Demitra, leetch and others to injury effectively limiting the Wolves championship hopes. Hopefully the bug will pass this week and move on to another team.

You might want to talk to Collin, Mike, Darrell and Cam about their experience this season. It does seem to be communicable, whatever it is.

I was going to say 'get in line'. I've just gone through the second horrible X-mas (pool wise) in a row.

Spezza - down with an injury for the second X-mas in a row (last year it was back, this year its a knee).

Jagr - out with (mild) groin pull

Lindros - out with unspecified problem (and subsequently traded away from the Heads) - the kicker here is that he and Spezza go down at exactly the same time. Leaving me without enough healthy centres to dress an active roster.

Havlat - out with another groin injury.

So the Heads are struggling a bit to find the silver lining in all of this. We've slipped from as high as 5th (and only a few points behind 4th) to fall past both the Wolves and Ramapithicines in just two weeks.

When the Lost Boys start foaming at the mouth about passing your team in the standings you have a right to complain.

No-one seems immune - tonight I have 2 Dmen actually playing on my roster (Whitney & Hamhuis) with injuries to Liles, Westcott, Boynton, Erskine, and Tremblay in the minors, and Pitkanen not playing for reasons I don't even know...

*sigh*
