Omni-variations

Hey all,

I don't have the stats, draft lists, and time to do this exercise, but I'm hoping one of you out there does!

Using the proposed revision to the Omnivore, go back to last year's draft, and find the baseline scores for each team using the best lineup from the ED plus PrD.

Then compare to the final standings - Curious to see how many teams have (+)ve scores...

I think you have hit on the very real possibility that what the Omnivore will demonstrate is that most of us are lousy at improving our teams over a perfect baseline of the players we start with.

Given that the new baseline will include only benefits created by trade, WD, WW and coaching decisions, and compares it to our best possible lineup, it could be a real wake-up call for some people.

In the opposite case though, is their any doubt that the GM with a high positive score deserves to win the award?

Actually, it was Richard who pointed this out. At least everyone will be judged on the same measure, so it will be fair. If everyone ends up negative, maybe it isn't the best way to do things - we can reassess after the year. Still, curious what the scores would be from last year...
