Torts might get a slight uptick in performance with his emotional gymnastics for the Rangers to make a push into the playoffs - but his shtick wears pretty thin pretty fast.
The problem is really Sather's construction of the team. Gomez is a solid #2 center in the #1 role. Drury is a lights-out #3 in the #2 role. Naslund has lost the burst of speed that made him an effective weapon off the wing. Redden has arguably the worst contract in the league running for over $6.5M for another 5 years. And so on.
