I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff but I was really doubtful.
Then I heard this was one of the finalists, its gotten a lot of hype up here as the artist is from just outside of Edmonton, so when I finally heard it on Thursday I was really, really impressed.
It has bagpipes! What more could you ask for :-)
The Highlanders approve, which is good as it's been trapped in my head now for days.
Apparently Bettman tried to have some influence on the song to celebrate the southern USA's long and rich history in the NHL - but bagpipes won out over R&B, gospel and soul. ;-)
I only see one (rather grainy) version of the new opening graphics, along with the new theme, on You Tube but the visuals are pretty cool. Can't wait to grab a high-def version once someone posts it.
