Well, the blog stuff being a matter of public record, I'm just recording all the "FP/1st round" stuff that gets pumped in as useful stuff to have around for my draft.

I don't have to draft an FP, granted, but it's useful stuff to hang on to. Surely anyone worth drafting in round 1 would be a good FP.

And then there's the Nash issue. It just doesn't seem right to let Cam get him in the 3rd round after all his squawking.

I voted for Tavares. Anyone who can claim to have broken one of The Great One's records has to be a serious candidate. You will have to protect him for two years (though maybe only one if his agent has his way) and that will not be cheap but the best move ever, IMHO, by the Edge was their snag of Ovechkin as an FP - sight unseen.

I voted for Giguere - with our new goaltender stats he's well over 100pt player (and likely the only one available by the time you draft), he's one of the top at his position, he's young enough to have several elite years ahead of him, and he has Chris Pronger in front of him clearing the way.

Or, you could follow Doug's suggestion and anchor your team to an FP who won't be in the league for another two more years! Do you think that Doug is suggesting Tavares to you because he has your best interests at heart?

Doug forgets to mention that Colin picked up Ovechkin right before the lock-out - which meant that he didn't have to sit through a year of zero points from his franchise player - and you are only going to be tagged for two years with Tavares. Very smart.

If you are interested in the services of Mr. Nash, by all means let's discuss a trade.
