is there more than 1 THN mag out right now? The one i saw and almost bought was very small and quite sad actually. The teams were condensed in the front and the rosters page wasn't the usual dark background but a white background...

Hi Chris,

What you saw was The Hockey News' Ultimate Pool Guide. Its just shy of 190 pages, has Crosby on the cover (not that this differentiates it much) and is essentially a oversized draft list.

The "Bible" or Hockey News Yearbook will probably be on the stands later this week or next and will (in Calgary) have a Flame on the cover - my bet is one of Iginla, Kipprusoff or Phaneuf - while other regions promote other local stars. This is usually a much better read and also has the official positions.

So we're all clear though, the Fantasy guide has a section for each team at the front, and the positions listed for the rosters are identical to those in the Bible.

Sure you run the risk of getting one or two wrong (especially if you use the positions listed at the back of the mag), but realistically you are good to get your lists started with the Fantasy Pool Guide.

That all said, if you get a player out of position it's your own fault for not using the bible.
