The Highlanders, following up on the three-year $21 million extension given to Highlander FP center and 2006 Art Ross and Hart Trophy Winner Joe Thornton, are happy to announce that they have signed P4 center and 2007 Art Ross and Hart Trophy Winner to a five-year $45 million extension. "With both Joe and now Sidney under contract for the long-term, we are very hopefull that the Highlanders and their fans can continue to challenge for the Predator Cup for years to come" GM Doug McLachlan explained to reporters this morning.

Let's be clear, the Pens have signed Crosby to an extension, and its the Sharks who have extended Thornton's contract. Thornton is already getting Yahin money and years from the Highlanders, and Crosby won't be franchised by the Highlanders until next season!

And yet I am still pleased.

I'm sure you are, but you needlessly confuse reality with the NHL.

I'd like to say it was myself that worked endless hours to sign Mr. Iginla to an extension, but really have to pay thanks to some guy named Sutter.

BTW, how the heck are the Penguins paying 9 mill a year? I thought the cap was 7.8 million at maximum (averaged out over contract). Or does the player cap increase with the team salary cap??

Anyway that non-hosts can also post their team logos onto a posting?? And how do you attach the player pictures? Just curious.
