Quiet Friday But Personal Vendetta Make Some Noise

The Bladerunners got a couple of assists from M.Straka in one of only two NHL contests last night and, as a result, increased their lead on the Highlanders to 11pts. While it is always good to increase one's lead, newly acquired V.Lecavalier and D.Boyle were held pointless so there would be reason to be somewhat disappointed with the result.

The real story of the night was, again, lower down on the table where the Personal Vendetta put an explanation point on their statement to the league that they are back by passing the upstart Lost Boys and moving into eighth place. While far from the lofty heights that the Vendetta and their fans are used to, it was only a few weeks ago that the team seemed destined to "win" their first Herbivore Trophy. That threat now seems increasingly unlikely. Indeed the Personal Vendetta are making, along with the Great Whites, as spirited run to make the Challenge Cup playoffs. The Vendetta and Great Whites are winning their games against the Scourge and Highlanders respectively while the Severed Heads are also losing in their game against the Knights Templar. If those trends continue, then the hope for post-season play will still be alive for both the PV and GW faithful.

Here are the, unofficial, stats as of Friday night's games:
