DISPUTE COMMITTEE

Currently consists of Bob, Rob and Brian. If any other GM interested in being part of, or if anybody would like to nominate a new GM(s) to be a part of... please speak up (lots of time, we decide DC by the ED).

There was talk of making this a committee with rotating membership. I'm prepared to serve for a three-year term if that's something we're still interested in doing, and someone could use a break.

I too am ready to stand for a term after several years off from being a member.

I like the idea of rotating membership. Right now it is basically 1 year terms with new members joining if someone interested (otherwise someone can be on the DC indefinitely). Rule is a bit vague about exactly how to do this (i.e. which of the current 3 members steps off when another person interested - hopefully someone volunteers to step off but a process might be better).

For the upcoming year - I voluntarily will step off.

Actually I thought we were changing this to three year terms with a change of one person per year to have continuity. I have currently been on the committee the longest (4 or 5 years) then Bob and Brian joined last year.

I will step down for someone new to take this on and leave Brian on the committee.

I suggest the following solution:

Rob, the longest serving member, steps down this year. I'll step up. Cameron spends this year looking after toddlers #1 and #2.

In 2010 Cam can step up to keep the "rotating membership" pattern going.

I'll stay on the DC but it sounds both Rob and Brian wish to step down at the ED on Sept 26th...so there is no reason I why both Richard AND Cameron can join the DC this year...IMHO

It isn't a matter of me not 'wanting' to be on the DC... but just wanting to give someone else an opportunity to be on it (i.e. if someone does, then they don't need to 'compete' against me).
