Is their also a Bettman Button?

For anyone who has ever wondered how it is that such bad reffing can happen in basketball, the blog Basketbawful gives us the explanation;

"The Stern Button"

Makes you wonder if there isn't a Bettman Button as well, no?

So much so, that encourage the FUNHL to submit your Bettman Button moments for review.

C'mon, who get the whistles (or non-whistles) that would give this conspiracy some teeth?

Just for fun.. June 20, 1999. Game 6 of Stanley Cup final. Triple overtime. Non-whistle - Brett Hull's illegal goal to clinch cup win for Dallas over Buffalo. Did Bettman want a team in Texas to win it to promote hockey in non-hockey markets...? Well, now that TB, CAR and ANA have won it in the past 10 years - along with DAL - he seems to be getting his wish...

And even worse of course... June 5, 2004. Game 6 of Stanley Cup final again (hmm.. defintie conspiracy theory ;-) Late in the third period. Gelinas scores Stanley Cup Winning goal. But no, Colin Campbell (lackey of Bettman and therefore must have been acting on Bettman's instructions.. right?) - does not allow for video replay confirmation. No cup for Calgary. Let's help a southern team win the cup...

I agree with you brian, but worse is he has performed for the owners he has lost the cba twice! in 1994 and in 2004 he sacrificed an entire season for what? salaries have gone up more than under old cba in 2yrs, free agency is for the younger players, will cap go up and then crash causing war? then the loss of quebec to colorado [succesful so far]but winnipeg to phoenix?? why has hamilton been rejected, forget MSLE, rather the good of the nhl; allegations that bettman interfered with baisille's negoitations with 1st Mario and now nashville!?! add what brian's said and something wicked this way comes...
