Concussions are mild traumatic brain injuries that with time can better. If Crosby could go at 80% and not get hit...well, there's the rub, he'd be a limited perimeter player with great hands and gifted vision which his competitiveness would not allow then smack...another lafontaine or lindros or savard...end of line.
He is playing it very smart - if can't take contact drills and even at 90% he gets foggy - gotta wait.
Having battled my own concussions - I hope he gets better...100$ before and after contact before returning to nhl play...

I think you have it right. The Cros is going to take a season off and get himself right.
At the very least he'll announce that he won't be coming back this year (2011), and that he'll try again in 2012.
I can't see him retiring, not with the option of a season off available instead.
I agree with Cam.
Taking a year off to get right with his body after these prolonged and interspersed concussion symptoms is the best thing he can do.
He gets headaches when going at 90%capacity in workouts... so, he can go at 80% capacity in games and get 100 pts right??
Dr. Brian signing out
Dr Brian - wrong!
