End of an Era
The Severed Heads since the FP era began can be defined by less than a handful of players; Jaromir Jagr, Paul Kariya, Evgeni Malkin, and Dany Heatley.
Eight years ago Heatley was acquired from the Highlanders for Nikolai Zherdev and Joni Pitkanen. Heatley was only available because he had recently wrecked his car, his knee and killed his best friend. Nevertheless, Heads mgt were confident he would fit in well with the team.
After the dust settled on his crash, Heatley was an instant hit with the team, posting back to back 50 goal/100 point seasons as a member of the Ottawa Senators.
He would later be a key component in the Heads successful Cup run just a few years back.
Nagging injuries the last couple of seasons in San Jose limited his effectiveness, and the recent trade to Minnesota means a fresh start for him.
Heads Mgt wishes him all the best with his new team the Knights Templar, and announce that upon the completion of his career, the Severed Heads will add his number to our Pantheon of Heroes.
Sail on Dany, sail on.
PS: Welcome back Zach Parise. We missed you.

Yes, Cam. Another member of your pantheon of heroes. At least now you have a real hero in Zach Parise and you can match Kane to start off the year. Well done.
