500 Goals?

History books say that Rocket Richard was the first player to ever amass 500 goals in professional hockey.

Turns out he may not even be the first Montreal Canadien to do the trick.

Here's how history short changes one of its all time greats.

Sorry Cam,

I can buy the inclusion of the NHL precursor league, the NHA, and their stats for a total of 414, but that is as far as I would stretch it.

Still, an amazing accomplishment.

We don't include WHA stats in Gretzky's record book - not that we are ever going to approach his NHL numbers - nor do we include Jagr's KHL numbers.

Nothing shabby about his 414, just not the equal to the Rocket.
