OCC pounds CC

Stats based on CTV Olympic coverage...

Despite the OCC dressing a D man who isn't even playing (Liles), their forwards are taking it to the CC and carrying the team into a large early lead. Looks like it is going to come down to which teams go farther...

Just curious, the OCC is divided into the Alberta Division (Severed Heads, Knights Templar and Highlanders) and the Eastern Canada Division (Shadowmen, Lost Boys and Wolves).

How are the Calgary Conference divided? The Edge and Great Whites are in the Calgary South Division and the Bladerunners are in the Calgary North Division. Where are the Vendetta, Ramapithicines and Scourge relative to each other?

I like to think the OCC is West-East and the CC is North-South...

It matters not...

Well I was kicking around some thoughts on the Challenge Cup set up. The idea of the Challenge Cup was to compliment the Predator Cup by keeping more teams involved in a meaningful race longer.

The last few years, however, the top Challenge Cup teams have been the top Predator Cup teams. Perfectly reasonable in keeping those teams involved for longer but not great for increasing the number of teams involved in a race for longer.

What I was thinking was a 4 division, 2 conference system. Each team plays four games against its 2 division rivals, 2 games against its 3 conference rivals and one game against each of its out of conference rivals. 20 game season.

Winners of each division make the playoffs. Semi-finals are a best of three for each conference and the conference champs play a best of three for the Challenge Cup.
