Week Two Stats

Congrats to the Personal Vendetta, who finish the week atop the Predator Cup standings and to the Scourge who have the week's top total.  Only two teams, the Vendetta and Bladerunners, remain undefeated in the Challenge Cup (and only two teams, the Severed Heads and Shadowmen, have yet to secure a victory). With the Omnivore updated as of last nights games the Wolves have continued to get the most from their roster.

Week three begins tonight and the non-Shadowmen trades have already started :-)

Hope everyone has or has had (we did it on Sunday) a great Turkey Day.  If you have the day off, as I do, hope it's an enjoyable one.  Don't forget to submit your line-ups (actually, please forget - need to catch up).

Week 2 Stats as of Wednesday Night Games

Hi all.  A couple of quick notes.  Don't trust the Omnivore scores, particularly in the early going as the Baseline will only be adjusted on a weekly basis for now and may not be completely accurate.

Also, I discovered my first mistake with the stats that I've sent out.  Mr. Getta still won his Challenge Cup game and had last week's best finish but I credited him with 4 more pts than he should have had (playing his +/- defensemen not only for +/- but also for pts, 4 of them in fact).  That is now corrected and, as I said, doesn't change any of the outcomes or story lines.

Also you may notice that the home and away colours for the Challenge Cup schedule will be slightly different than that previously posted.  Didn't notice that I had games where teams are indicated as being both home and away during the same week.  That should be corrected moving forward but the keen-eyed of you will notice that this changes things from the previous e-mail.

Otherwise, congrats to the Personal Vendetta who have now moved into top spot and to the Scourge and Barbarians for having the best week thus far.  As always, trade lines are open.

Week One Standings and Stats

Congrats to the Knights Templar for the top score.  Hjalmarsson's +5 (and 10pts), H.Sedin's 5pts and J.Howard's 4.38pt week certainly helped.  The strong showing also lead to a victory over the Severed Heads in the Challenge Cup and a strong showing in the Omnivore.

On to week two but if you notice any discrepency with my numbers and those that you have calculated, please let me know.  Early on my spread sheet can make errors over the simpest things (like whether during the off season a player changes going from "Dan" to "Danny" to "Daniel") to your humble stats keeper playing two goalies or three TGs.  Thanks to Bob, again, for all the line-up help.

Week 1 Stats - as of Day 2!!

With only six NHL games in the books your FunHL Stats team has been hard at work and we are off, after only two nights of hockey, with the first stats of the season.  Thanks again to Bob for posting the line-ups to the Blog.

Obviously most teams haven't played yet but if you spot any discrepencies with your stats do let me know.  In the early stages it is often a mistake with the spreadsheet itself that needs to be corrected.

Just picked up my copy of the Hockey News Ultimate Pool Guide. Bible should be out in a week. August means list making can begin in earnest. Yay!

Challenge Cup Schedule 2013-14

Hi all, the Bladerunners will begin their defense of the Challenge Cup starting Week One, with begins Tuesday October 1st, against the Scourge.
Every team will play a home and home series against 9 of their opponents with the two remaining opponents playing a single neutral site game - one over the Christmas Break during Week 13, beginning Monday December 23rd, and once during the last game of the regular season, Week 20 beginning Wednesday February 26.
Week 20 is the return to FunHL hockey following the Olympic Break that goes from Sunday February 9th to Tuesday February 25th.
As per usual, the top four teams will make the playoffs with two best of three semi-finals followed by a best of three Challenge Cup Final.
